Speedometer gauge noise

Speedometer gauge noise
Anyone ever heard any noise coming from the speedometer gauge? Or does anyone know how the speedometer gauge (or any gauges in the cluster) is driven (i.e. mechanical, electrical, servo motor, pwm, etc). At about 50-60mph I hear a pulsating noise coming from the speedometer gauge area. Some days it's louder than others and some days it's nonexistent. I've narrowed it down to a gauge noise because when I turn the car off I hear a similar constant yet faint gauge noise from the fuel gauge as it goes to empty (during power down). I'm just trying to get some insight into these gauges prior to heading to the dealer to hopefully get this fixed under warranty. And if it matters, I have the mycolor option.

RE: Speedometer gauge noise
I've had a intermittent sound in my GT that sounds just like a wheel bearing scraping. Comes and goes, I drove next to a concrete wall with the windows down trying to isolate it and can't seem to locate it. During a trip to the dealer for an oil change i had them look for it and at least document it if it turns out to be something major. Of course it wouldn't act up for them, but as soon as I got 5 miles from the dealer, it started again. It's wheel speed dependent, not drive shaft or engine speed dependent. Of course beeing intermittent, it's a real pain to troubleshoot. I'll listen carefully at the instrument cluster to see if its the speedo. Thanks for the idea! It's one I hadn't considered.
PS: I've got the my color option also.
