Default Spoiler and louvre installation questions

Two questions:

1: A local shop quoted $400 for paint and installation of the Cervini's ducktail spoiler (not including part costs, I'd have to order the spoiler seperately). How does that compare to prices everyone else has paid for non-oem spoiler installations?

2: Self-installing the pre-painted Roush quarter-window louvres looks simple enough and more cost-effective than having a shop paint and install, but how well do they match the factory OEM paint? I'm getting black clearcoat, paint on the 'stang is brand new with no fade.

whoa there!!! 400 for the paint and install? They are really, really proud of their services, aren't they! Sounds pretty high to me. Does the spoiler need additional body modification? Is so, that may be why it is so high. A direct bolt on sould be way cheaper, but if they have to fill and drill...different picture.

Yes, that's pretty expensive an install & paint job. Shop around.
I take it your car is black so I doubt you'd have the color matching issues that you would with yellow, sonic blue, grabber orange, etc.
I never found installation instructions for the Roush louvers. The ones i have slap right onto the outer edges of the glass w/ 3M tape. The Roush look like they have screws at each corner. Are those real?

the roush louvers have brackets that secure to the window with 3m tape, the louvers then use the "screws" to secure to the brackets. this way you can take the louvers off and clean the windows if you ever want to. install is a snap!

i say go buy some paint from the dealership to match your car for sure. Then i say install it yourself. If i can install my GT front and rear fascia's you can install both of these easy. you will save a ton of money doing it this way.

Well I go the Roush Louvers from THR and they color matched it and it's PERFECT. Installing it is easy as hell! Check Roush's website out, and talk to the people at THR <-- to get better pricing

Ya, that gorilla snot they use from the factory is a biatch......thought I was going to dent my trunk....

Use some heavy fishing line to "saw" through the crap from all sides before popping the spoiler off....

Can someone post a photo of their Roush louvers with the louvers removed for cleaning?
That's the kind of pic that would make this thread even better!
