Yeah, get the C&L if you want to purchase an intake for around $300 that you can't install on your car. The C&L won't work unless you spend an additional $300 to get a tuner to adjust your car's MAF readings.

For approximately $350, you can get the Granatelli intake with the recalibrated MAF that will not require a tuner to work.

Or, get the K&N intake which will yield lower horsepower results than the Granatelli, but still does not require a tune.

I'd get the Granatelli if I were spending "around $300".

Check out Evolution Performance and Brenspeed for opinions. You need a CAI and a tune to get the most out of the CAI. I have the JLT II CAI and SCT II 93 octane tune from Evolution Performance and am happy with it.

I have the DeMolet CAI and tune. Got the whole package for $490.00 right to my door. It's a great deal and it really woke up the car with the 93 octane tune.

you should get a tuner anyway then so getting a tuner+CAI is a good idea
and I know I plan on a C&L and SCT so getting both would be a good idea

I like my Airaid and some of the guys over at 2005stang.com also use it. It can be used without a tune or without.
