How loud do your LT headers make things?
I'm probably going to go with the Dynatech LT headers and Catted x-pipe and want to know how much louder its going to get inside the car?
I already have Flowmasters and like the sound but, any louder and my wife will probably not ride in the car anymore and we'll end up taking her hyundai on long weekend trips. Also, my neighbors are pretty close and they've already commented about me starting the thing up in the morning and letting it warm up.
Will Dynamat significantly decrease the interior noise level?
thanks,

I don't know how much louder it will make it, but the Dynamat will help with the interior noise. Put some more in the truck and that usually helps cut down on drone and interior noise.
It's going to get louder, but not much. I installed Kooks catted LTs and already had Flowmasters. Honestly, I expected it to be louder. Just bought some Borla Stingers to remedy that.
I don't think you'll notice that big of a difference at idle and normal driving...but when you go WOT...wooohoooo!!!!

There's some, but I think the Flows are muffling the sound. Oh, and that sweet sound you've gotten used to with the H-pipe and Flows?...Forget it, it's gone. The X-pipe changes the tone...not for the worse, just different. Took me about a week of driving around to get used to it. We'll see what the Borlas do, but I conciously made a possible trade off in sound for hp. Still sounds bad a$$ though...
I just came here from the "Corvette world" (C5...'00 FRC) and headers don't really make too much of a difference in sound, but at WOT its nicer! (Esp. on the type of cat back, and if you're running an aftermarket cat back at all, cats/ no cats, etc) Some of those variables will make a difference.
Also, if I get headers on my "06 GT, I'll get longtubes. Shorties (at least on GM LSx Gen III engines) don't really make a difference in HP at all, whereas the LT's were worth alot (esp. with a tune such as EFI Live) Just my .02 cents, FWIW, if this info helps at all for Mustangs!
As for LT's may I suggest American Racing headers. (Not affiliated with the wheel company). Actually, its a new company started from a former employee at Kooks. These headers are all the rage in the Vette world. They fitment is easier than Kooks, and they are a work of art!
