I was also disappointed with the way my car accelerated at first. I'm sure the fact it's an auto didn't help.
Fortunately you can do something about it. Put a tune and CAI at first. It makes a pretty good difference.

If you're like me and still thinks it's slow after that then put a blower in it, a T converter, 4:30 gears, grenade the engine bla bla bla...

Hey guys... just wanted to share this, I got my GT about 1 week ago and I have driven a bunch of other cars like turbos, V6 etc... and the accelaration on the mustang doesn't feel like that big of a deal, I mean I have driven other wars with 50 - 80 less hp and they feel quicker. BUT if you are cruising and there is a car beside you on the next lane and you gun it it looks like the car besides you just pulled a parachute.

Is this the case with the mustang? Is it a lot quicker than it feels?

with older cars when you're doing 100 u feel like you're about to get ready for liftoff lol....newer sports cars all have the feel of not going as fast as you really are.

Yep the car is pretty deceptive in accelaration feeling but its actually really quick, I think that its the tradeoff for having a care that feels 'safe' at higher speeds... So theres so much talk about this 'tune' for our cars... is it really that big of a difference for a CAI and Programming?

When I first got my six-banger, I thought it felt as though it wasn't going that fast either...until I saw the speedometer saying 80!!!! I think that's just the nature of a sports coupe or muscle car. Throttle lag exists, and the cheapest and quickest way to get rid of it and get the neck-snap you're looking for is a tuner. The design of the car, the smoothness of the car, and the awesomeness of the car are detrimental to those of us with lead foots!!!!!!

the only thing I don't like is the other day I was going on highway 146 and it may have been in my mind but I couldn't seen to break 100MPH I have gone 140 in this car on that road so I blame Drive-by-wire the revs were at 3000 and I just couldn't get to 5500 ya I'm sure its my mind telling me there could be a cop up ahead or it could be drive-by-wire or even the governor malfunctioning
but on the way back I had no problem getting to 140

How is the original post a rant?
The guy has a question about how his car accelerates. A lot of us have floored the pedal and wondered why it doesn't throw you back in the seat like a good old muscle car.
Don`t get me wrong the car is a freakin beauty and for the money it's a hell of a bargain but the best part of having a mustang is the muscle car feel. No one on this post is 'slamming' it by saying they are expecting a bit more jam out of it. That's why everyone in here has a tune, CAI or whatever...
The only rant I see here is your post.

Yeah, he's a troll because he spoke his mind about "the best car in the planet"... The fanboy **** is getting old. Just accept your car for what it is, a beautiful pretty quick car. Not the best looking car ever made that's faster than everything if you just add _____.
