Default Feel the Acceleration.

Hey guys... just wanted to share this, I got my GT about 1 week ago and I have driven a bunch of other cars like turbos, V6 etc... and the accelaration on the mustang doesn't feel like that big of a deal, I mean I have driven other wars with 50 - 80 less hp and they feel quicker. BUT if you are cruising and there is a car beside you on the next lane and you gun it it looks like the car besides you just pulled a parachute.

Is this the case with the mustang? Is it a lot quicker than it feels?

James I understand how you might feel. But keep an eye on the speedo when you punch it. You really are moving. My best quess is the fly-by-wire throttle. In other cars with mechanical linkage, when you punch it you really punch open the throttle. On the stang the computer smoothly opens the throttle. It's probably more efficent, but it does feel a little lagging compared to the punch of a mechanical system. But if you get a tune that will put a lot of that punch back into the accellaration. My 2cents.

sorry to disappoint but I am keeping the mustang it has grown on me more and more... MMM... what makes a car feel slower that it really is... like for example I had about 3 years ago a modded 1.8turbo jetta and that car felt very very quick, much quicker than the mustang but it really is much more slower.

Suspension has alot to do with it, steering, insulation, ride height of the vehicle, size of the vehicle, window design, weight, sound and harmonics, if you have an auto shift points are big as well.

Personally i think its the huge hood...i know that sounds dumb...but when i drive other cars(way slower) that you can see the ground directly in front of you it makes it seem faster...thats just my opinion though...and the small windshield...
