Feel the Acceleration.

RE: Feel the Acceleration.
I drove a new Mazda MX-5 (Miata) for a cople of months between Mustangs and it definitely "felt" faster than the Mustang. I think it was just the cars's size, gear ratio, it was a 6-speed, etc. I miss it - it was a really fun roadster - but am glad I went back with a Mustang - a vert this time. If only my hood would not shake over 80mph...

RE: Feel the Acceleration.
Two points I'd like to make...
1) The S197 is faster than it feels, I think it has to do with the build of the chassis. I have a modified '88 5.0 vert that definitely FEELS alot faster, and it may well be 0-60, but my '06 would take it easily in the 1/4.
2) The torque of the S197 creeps up smoothly through the RPMs and doesn't kick you in the *** anywhere in particular. It's kind of a boiled frog effect. (If you want me to explain the boiled frog effect, I will. It is a common model used to describe many things, including political change.)
