Frozen emergency brake lines

RE: Frozen emergency brake lines
I know for a fact that they are or were in the process of a redesign of them to stop this from happening. So the responses you heard are legit I would say. But you should say put a set of new, but yet defected ones on there is they have them and then get them replaced later. I know there is also a shortage of the replacements so they might not have any on hand at all.

I went to the dealer the other day to get them replaced and they said no one had replacements available in the area. I'm at the end of my warranty period, and Ford won't fix 'em if your warranty is expired.

That's what I would say too, but the dealer I went to said they wouldn't do it since I was over warranty (by a couple miles btw). I'm going to call another dealer, and Ford if necessary. Seems like if they acknowledge this is an issue part, they should replace it free no matter what.

Unfortunately, TSB's differ from recalls in that they are typically only done under warranty. Since this is such a wide spread issue, I'd think you'd still have shot at getting them to cover it that close to the end of your warranty. Can't hurt to try. The fact they they used low quality parts to begin with should be reason enough for them to replace them. I'd remind them that they admitted to using junk instead of the quality parts they claim to use. [sm=bs.gif]
