RE: Yokohama YK520's.
Rarely take the opinions of the store....do your research on-line and decide how you are going to use the tire. Typically when a tire has a high mileage warranty (basically over 40k miles) you are giving up traction for mileage - muscle cars typically aren't the ideal candidates for a high mileage warranty tire. Yokohama does make a good tire - but I would pick one of their performance tires. Also the GT does need a higher speed rating than H - get at least V speed rated since it's up to 140 - even if you never get even close you are supposed to replace the tires with a similar speed rating.
Look at tirerack.com and you can view customer feedback on your car - so you can see each kind of tire and how other people with the same car rate the tire. Tires are big decisions - you need to decide what kind of driving you are going to do and what your environment is (rain, snow, etc) and then how much you want to pay. Several brands which sometimes get overlooked but make excellent tires are Falcon, Toyo and Kumho - look around and you'll be surprised at how much tire you can actually get for the money.
These Kumhos are great tires and are currently $95 at Tirerack - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=V
I've used the Toyo Proxes 4 on a Mazda Miata and an Infiniti G35 with great results - here's another site to consider - http://www.edgeracing.com/2006/Ford/...g_GT/tires/17/
Good luck!

RE: Yokohama YK520's.
not my taste and a very poor choice. Those are tires for a lincoln, not a stang. The factory tires are better than that.
Personally, if you are asking about my opinion.
For a good all season go with at the very least, an ultra high performance all season like the michelin pilot sport AS or something along those lines. Try dealing with tire rack, they will help you much better.
For decent tires, the stock BFG 18" KDWS I have on mine are not bad and cheap as dirt. I actually really like them. And I just read a whole article about how ford tested 4 different tires on our cars and tuned the suspension to the tire choices they picked. With different tunes for 17" and 18" cars, and different suspension geometry up front. The factory 18" cars have different steering stops or spindles or something.
buttttt.
with that said.
I run dedicated snows in the winter, and after I burn up the BFG's more than likely I will throw in a max or ultra high perf summer only tire for the summer months. Maybe pilot sports, or goodyear f1 gs-d3. Something like that.
