Yes, that's an idea put it in storage, document the mistake and then take it to Barrett-Jackson in 30 years!
Oh, wait, it's been modded! NEVER MIND! With the mods it just looks like it's been in an accident! Put the stock parts back on pronto before you take it to the dealer!

RE: ENGINE COMPARTMENT NOT PAINTED
UPDATE- I talked to the Service Manager at the Ford dealership - Awesome guy. Was when I bought it and still is. He brought in his GM and Ford to take a look at the car and they are going to buy it back and put me in the same exact car. Brand new. I did not even have to go through any hoops to make this happen! The Sales Manager Rocks! I am going to take the new one home for the weekend, and if there are no issues I should do the swap next week.

I can't understand how that car left Flatrock. It is so obvious, I can't see it passing final inspection, or even getting to that point.
That entire engine compartment is painted at the factory before the engine, wiring, hardware etc. Goes in. Probably, 40-50 workers at various stages of assembly see the inside of that compartment. It's highly unlikely it slipped by that many workers.
I'm purely speculating that SOMETHING happened to that car between Flatrock and the dealer's destination. Like maybe it came off the hauler nose first, was repaired, and then........... finished it's journey. Or maybe a fire, and they had to replace everything, dropped a new engine in it, but forgot to repaint the engine compartment JMO
Man, I wanna know what happened here. Maybe, black07cs, you need to contact one of those TV Investigation Shows. PLEASE keep us posted daily as to what you are finding out. and ....................................[sm=signs003.gif]

I will once I sign the papers That and I want to make sure they want me to/I can disclose. Once it is done I will list Dealer and Sales Manager immediately. He gave me his cell number, answers it when I call, and calls me daily with updates. He has been at the same dealership since 1997 and I can see why.

Congrats on the nice ending. There are still a few really good dealers out there. You should post this dealers name and give them some free press.

RE: ENGINE COMPARTMENT NOT PAINTED
It was actually painless. I brought it in and showed him, sent him pics with an email of my concerns, and he handled it. He told me that they contacted Flatrock, showed them the pics and they said it was a robotic arm issue.
I never mentioned lemon law or hassled them, but I'm sure Ford knows that they are in the wrong. The line below out of the lemon law rules sums it up. This car looks like it's been in an accident and has been repainted, and nobody will want to touch it so it's value is severly diminished. They are doing the right thing.
"any defect or condition or series of defects or conditions which substantially impair the value of the motor vehicle to the consumer"

Guys cursing/asterisk do not add a thing to your posts it only detracts from them. Please refrain from using so much profanity. Some of us do not appreciate it.

RE: ENGINE COMPARTMENT NOT PAINTED
Not exactly the engine compartment, but I got the same Ford "paint job" on my spoiler.
