Default ENGINE COMPARTMENT NOT PAINTED - UPDATE

UPDATE-
I talked to the Service Manager at the Ford dealership - Awesome guy. Was when I bought it and still is. He brought in his GM and Ford to take a look at the car and they are going to buy it back and put me in the same exact car. Brand new. I did not even have to go through any hoops to make this happen! The Sales Manager Rocks! I am going to take the new one home for the weekend, and if there are no issues I should do the swap next week.

Now that this happend so easily I am starting to wonder. They gave me ZERO resistance and under the hood has the same color issue. I do wonder if it was originally a diff color at the factory at one point...

My engine compartment and undercarriage are not painted black like the rest of my car. They are a gold color with some black overspray. I did not notice when I bought it as it was new and I test drove a GT before buying the GT/CS. I just took my car back to the dealer to check other 07's and they were all painted.

The dealership is going to check with Ford, but there is not much they are going to be able to do besides give me a new one are they??? Anyone had this problem? It's not just one spot - it's the whole engine compartment and everything under the car.

On a positve note I just had it dyno'd and it posted 287RWHP and 308 Ft LB of Tourque....

I don't know how they can repaint it without disassembling everything, and the Dealership agreed. I am going to press for a new one, but that is easier said than done. I'd have to pull my mods off if that happens.

This is interesting. I think they would "trade it" for a new one...if that's what you want.

do that and if you have a tune take the tune off and run it for about 50 miles before you take it back in...i'd rip it off now just in case man. Best of luck, that fuggin blows, i'd be so angry

I am pissed. I have a tune, the CAI, Ford Racing Exhaust, and the biggest pain Underdrive pulleys. They couldn't offer me anything as it is the GT/CS and they don't have another one on the lot. I'm thinking I have to push for a new one. If I go to sell it I will get killed on resale value. I love this car, but it's going to have to go..

I don't want to come off as being an a$$, but you didn't at least open the hood before you bought it? I too had picked out a different GT before I changed my mind to get this one, but I did go completely over this car before I even made an offer on it. I certainly would not have done all those mods before taking it back immediately when I did notice it. I'd take a GT if your dealer offered it even if it isn't a CS, just to get rid of the one you got. Good luck getting a different one, let us know how it goes.
