All your mods? How many mods do you have and how long did it take you to figure out the engine compartment wasn't painted?
I thought you were saying you had 287rwhp stock until i saw the pics of the CAI.

I don't know how they can repaint it without disassembling everything, and the Dealership agreed. I am going to press for a new one, but that is easier said than done. I'd have to pull my mods off if that happens.

I hear you.. No I didn't bother to open the hood on this one. My bad for assuming that the car was painted properly as it was NEW.

I know that I am in for a fight over this one with Ford and I don't expect them to just give me a new one.

My post was two fold, one to b#$ch and the other to ask if others have this issue. I have seen nothing on the web and I find it hard to believe that it's the only one.

Right about the time I was installing the CAI, which can come off in 20 mins. Pullies another hour or so. I really didn't make too much of it at first. The fact that the guy running the dyno said he's never seen another like it, and then my trip to the dealer to compare it against others showed that it's definitely an issue.

I am more worried about resale than anything. It is definitely not slowing me down and it's not visible from the outside.

There is something VERY wrong here. First, I've never seen anything like that and I can't believe it left the factory like that. You'd think someone would say something prior to putting the engine in!!

Second that overspray looks weird, like this was not the original color, you say the underhood color is gold??. I've never seen a gold '07 Mustang.

Lastly, how did you get all your mods on there and not notice anything until now???? There's something wrong with this car and this post.

How the hell does that get by the "Quality Control" people during the manufacturing process. I mean how many people on the ASSembly line saw this defect go by without anyone pulling this car from the line. I guess I should go thru life with blinders on and apply as a Quality Control Specialist for Ford.[sm=alcoholic.gif]

I never opened the hood when I bought mine. I guess I was blinded by the beauty. There has to be some history on this car and I'll bet the dealer has it.

Agree.

Black07CS - if your post is legit - my advice is to definitely hold Ford's feet to the fire and get a new vehicle from them. Your vehicle is odd (to say the least) and you will get slaughtered in resale value at some point. Good luck.
