Warranty work with gears and underdrive pulleys

Warranty work with gears and underdrive pulleys
I'm planning to install underdrive pulleys and possibly have 3.73 gears installed. How has anyone handled warranty work with these mods installed? I guess it would obviously depend on what type of warranty work is needed, but I don't think my dealer is too receptive to any modifications. Last time it was in for a TSB, I removed the CAI and tune. Which leads to my second question. Would the car run without trouble codes if I had the 3.73 gears but removed the CAI and put the tune back to stock. My xcal can adjust for the gears but only with the tunes that include the CAI.

RE: Warranty work with gears and underdrive pulleys
The gears won't throw any codes. The gear change with the tuner is just so the speedo reads correctly. If you flash back to stock, the speedo will be off, but chances are nobody will notice. With 3.73s the difference is pretty small.
As for the UDPs, this depends on the dealer. Some are totally OK with it, some are not. And I'm sure several of them woundn't even notice either.

RE: Warranty work with gears and underdrive pulleys
Your answer really depends apon the Dealer and the Tech working on your car, inless there working on something related to the aftermarket part they will prob not even notice you have changed the gears and the UDP does not really stand out like the CAI does. Most won't go after you in tell you try to get them to fix something related to the aftermarket parts. I can't fix your tire because you have a CAI on the car" now you tell them that your Transmission is messed up your going to have a fight on your hands with the UDP on there and once it's in the computer it don't matter which dealer you goto they all know about it.
