that is the same # flange. it's also #'d M4851B by FRPP. doesn't the V6 have a one piece steel shaft? or it was supposed to i thought. if not you guys would pick up a ton with one of those in there. it seems to make a bigger difference the less power you have to start with. like with my car, it was stock save for the canned lidio SCT tune. and it made a 2 tenthof a second reductionin 1/4 mile times. if the V6 cars have a 45lb driveshaft it would kill that little engine at low speed.
Not sure of the weight of the V6 shaft, but it is a one piece, us V6 users would not need the additional flange and you could make to part#'s, one for GT's and one for the V6 user................V6 would be a cheaper kit....flange not needed..............I see a V6 group buy coming on[sm=goodidea.gif]

Marketing Dept.,

Cheers!

P.S. Happy New Year!!!

Fast Ford Mag. did this as a bolt on track tune and found that it made a .2 change in the 1/4 mile time. I'm guessing about a 20hp gain at the rear wheels.

This interesting reading.

VERY interesting article! I am shocked (perhaps due to my own ignorance) to know that the stock Auto was lighter than the stock Stick (18" wheels might contribute to this), and I was pleased to see the AT turning in such great times. Thanks for the link.

honestly if i had known that in the beginning i probably would have gotten one of those(stockV6 shaft)just to try. i do wonder what it weighs though.
i did a same day track test before and after results: stock driveshaft=13.73, aluminum driveshaft= 13.51 with no realchange in mph.

Interesting article.

When I got my Aluminum d/s, I did it for the increased strength. I knew the lower rotating mass was a good thing, but I'd never have guessed that it was worth 2 thenths in th1/4. Wow!

Lighter+Stronger=Faster......just transfer the H.P. you have to the rear axel = more power at the rear wheels.I've been trying to get my 05 GT into the 12.0's based on this article. So far I have a CAI,Steeda U.D. pullies. I'm shoppoing for a good driveshaft at a reasonable price thats proven and the SCT Tuner and a couple of tunes from Breenspeed in the next couple of weeks. My goal....mid12's for less than $2000.00 in bolt-on's.

thats do-able. you just have to carefully decide on the mods so as not to waste money on stuff that gives mediocre results.
gears, clutch(or torque converter whichever fits), slicks, tune pulleys and rear control arms for increased traction and better 60' times.
a lot of the stuff i've done didn't make me any faster/quicker so far but it needed to be done for consistancy's sake. i've seen manual trans cars with just a good tune and cai, pulleys running 12.70's with street tires! those same cars with slicks would easily pick up another 2 tenths.
