I vote non-functional = rice
Not looking to start anything.
Just wondering exactly what about my hood is rice?
Not a thing. I guess it's just gotten under my skin that the fake scoop is preventing me from installing a shaker. I had a '69 Mach1 with a fake shaker and fake brake vents in the quarterpanels and they always bothered me, too. Personal preference - I went overboard with the rice comment, though, so my apologies for that.
What's a fake shaker? On the 69 Mach 1 the shaker is the hood scoop that sits on the engine and comes through a hole in the hood. It's not fake. It's worth a couple of tenths in the quarter mile on a 428cj car. Itdoes not function as a ram air scoop even though they called it that, but does provide outside cooler air which is worth horsepower. Maybe you meant the other bolt on hood scoop that was available on Mach 1's? The side scoops were definitely fake.

not tape on Rice type.
He says while driving his non functional tape on 1/4 window scoops around town.
This is what I ment, the cheep plastic type with the large tape lip and looks fake...
Plus My side window scoops are perm attached with screws and clips and yes some tape. I plan on removing the window and covering it with sheetmetal, welding, primer and paint. I hate that window.

Rice is a term for the tuner cars in Asia and the tuner cars that don't hold an American name here in the USA. Nothing about the stang and its aftermarket parts for it make it rice....IMHO Humboldt I agree with you.

Just the fact that they are not functional doesn't make them ricey, imho.
Ford has for years put cosmetic mods on the Stang.
If it looks good, do it.
