I would be safe about it too. but like others said, someone could have spilled some in your car. I changed the fuel pump in my saleen and for some reason threw one of my rags in the trunk with my tool box. it smelled like gas, so looked every where and didn't see any gas leaks, then when i popped the trunk i saw the rag. but it still smelled like gas for about 2 more days.
