OK HERES THE DEAL, I INSTALLED A BBK CAI. I GOT IT FROM RPM OUTLET WHICH IN THE AD STATES THIS IS ON OF THE ONLY SYSTEMS THAT DOES NOT NEED AN AFTER MARKET TUNER. SO AFTER ABOUT 300-400 MILES I GET A CEL AND HAVE IT CHECKED, ITS RUNNIN LEAN. I HAVE A CALL INTO BBK AND RPM? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. I DID DO THE QUICK FIX WHICH WAS TO REMOVE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR A FEW MINUTES THAN RECONNECTED. THAT ACTUALLY CLEARED IT FOR NOW.

 

2 suggestions

1) Dont buy from RPMOutlet as the problems with them have been well documented.

2) Buy a CAI with tuner since your gains will be 25-28 hp

B amachips, Brenspeed and EVO are recomended.

As for your current problem. Take it off for now.

 

If you wanta cai with no tune required go with a k and n or for best results use the granatelli ... but if you want the full effect get a tune

 

I would have to agree on RPM Outlet but thats for another thread. I really like the BBK CAI so what would be a good compatible tunner?

If you want to keep the intake I would go with the SCT Xcalibrator 2 tuner. There's that and the Diablosport tuner but in my looking around I've found that most people prefer the SCT. And they're both about the same price. If you're gonna be a bit before you buy the tuner take the intake off. No point in potentially harming your engine. Good luck!

Thanks, I have been checking both those out. Hypertech came out with a new tuner that is pre-programmed with 10 diffrent CAI. So I am going to check that one aswell. I am just waiting to see what BBK has to say?

 

The "10 different cais" would just be the "canned" tune for that intake. This is NOT what you get with the actual tuners I mentioned above. They will ask you about other mods you have on your car and develop a custom tune just for you. I tried the C&L with canned Predator tune. Really did not notice that much of a difference. Order a tune from B amachips and the experience is not even close. Its a whole different car now. The same can be said about Brenspeed. This difference can not be stressed enough in my opinion.
