Default Dyno Needed with JLT/XCAL

I ordered my JLT 2/ X Cal 2 package from Brenspeed and was just curious if anyone who got a "canned" CAI/Tuner package had a dyno performed. From reading the reviews on Brenspeed and other reputable tuners it seems that everyone is confident/comfortable with thier canned tuned. Nonethless, wanted to gauge everyone to see if I would be fine without the Dyno.

FYI - not concerned with HP....just want to be comfortable with A/F ratio.

I've heard from two seperate people who have brenspeed tunes and had their cars dynoed. Both said the A/F was spot on. I've never had mine dynoed, but i've never had any problems either.

Thanks Moose...has anyone else obtained A/F ratios from canned tunes...if so, were they good (i.e. 12.8 - 13.2)

These cars like to be a bit rich, not lean. Most canned tunes should error on the side of caution.
Brenspeed and Evolution are fantastic tuners and know alot about these cars. You should not have any problems with these guys.. I bought mine from V8 power... (I hope there not advertisers here) but there tune leaned my car out big time (A/F = 16 - 18) I never got a code and the car ran fine. I found this out at a Dyno day with my local Mustang Club. I could not get in to dyno tune the car for a while so I called Evolution for a canned tune. Well to make a long story short, I attended another dyno day and my A/F was 12.6 Perfect. you went with Brenspeed, Awsome, you will have no problems, just tons of fun

Now I have the Granatelli CAI and Brenspeed tunes. had my car Dyno'ed and it wasrunning about 15% lean. Not bad, but not good either. Now I love BrenSpeed and will continue to order from them, but if you have never dyno tuned this combo before its going to be hard to nail perferct. These cars are so touchy to air flow changes that IMO it can not hurt to have your A/F ratio check, no matter what and where you buy your tuner and CAI kit from, Just my 2cents

Quick is so very right, always better to be safe than sorry..

You can install your own Wideband sensor to monitor A/F mix
Standalone Gauge Kit (16 in 1) cheapest I could find. I am installing a Bung in the header
for one soon. Well worth every penny.

here is some more cool stuff
