Default Salt Corroding OEM Polished wheels

The snowhasn't been too bad here in Wisconsin over the past month, and my wife has a Jeep, so I took off my unattractive snow tires and put on my polished OEMbullits. While the snow hasn't been bad, roads are still covered with salt becuase of our near or sub zero temps.

Will these OEM rims corrode? I have washed them the last 3SaturdaysI have had them on, but i don't want to be setting my self up for trouble. There must by7 of these sets of wheels on Mustangs out on dealer lots through out the milwaukee area that are all covered with salt...

Thanks.

They might! Last winter, I ran a set ofchromed ASA's and theypitted because of the salt. See my pics below.

I returned the wheels to the tire rack for a new set at no charge.

As with any wheel, even the painted ones, they will show corrosion if not cared for properly. Just make sure you keep a quality protectant on them, wax ie,silicon, acrylic, or even carnuba based. The place I've noticed the most probable place for corrosion is in the spots that are harder to protect such as; small little hex screws that some wheels now have, the holes/openings where the the lugs are, and of course the back-side of the wheel. I personally use my OEM bullits as a set of winter wheels, then keep the nice ones for summer driving. Of course not everyone has the option of two sets of wheels or tires. It's just going to be really hard unless you are diligent in keeping them clean and protected. I would suggest taking them off the car, clean them really well and wax them while off the vehicle, including the backside as well.
