Clunky starts w/ GT manual after hard launch- TCS on
I don't usually post these subjective issues on my Stang, since it's barely broken in at 7K and each car seems to have it's own personality traits, however I do want to pose this question and see if there are any wise-people out there who can shed some wisdom on this scenario:
Launch the GT in 1st gear, dry pavement, about 3-3.5K RPM. TCS on.
Car launches w/ very little spin in 1st gear, and I usually pull a good second around 4500-5K, and on through the gears. No gnashing or thrashing, just a good solid 1,2,3,4 pull.
After bringing her back to a halt, my next several normal launches feel really odd. It kinda feels like that old manual clutch on my old F100 pickup. You know the one that has cracks and severe heat scoring in the flywheel where the clutch engages with a shudder? This feeling is actually happening in my Stang at times. I can feel it kinda bump-bump during engagement in 1st gear.
Anyone else experience this type of a clutch issue? Is it simply TCS resetting itself or could I have a clutch problem?

Ok. Here is my mini rant. When playing with the car, I HATE TCS. Unless it is raining, or lightly snowing (for very heavy snow, wheels slip, tcs cuts power, car does not move).
It gives the car this nasty bucking feeling at times. Usually it is when a hard 2-3 shift is thrown, it feels like you are hitting a brick wall. TCS is definatly more sensitive at higher speeds. At low speeds they have the program backed down.
The car is slower with it on. I hate that feeling where you accellerate, and the tach just stops at some point with the TCS light flashing, then kicks in again.
