RE: Rim Opinion! Please Help!
Is there a difference in the cost of a 17" and an 18" wheel?
How about the difference in and equally wide 17" or 18" tire?
And considering how the Owners Guide suggests we rotate tires every 5000 miles it might be an arguement for having the same sizes.

rotation is going to be a problem that I will have to face, just means no rotating and new tires :]. Well, there is a difference in the cost for a 17" and a 18", big time. And a 18x9 all around is a different then a 18x10 but not that much, the tires is what im going to be paying a lot for.

I know I'm a real minority on the forum when it comes to wheels. 20"s rule! That being said, I like a tall tire profile, so I'm running 17" x 9" cobra r chrome deep-dish rims with the original 235/55s. With my eibach prokits, IMO this combo gives an awesome look. The wheel is slightly outside the fenders (1/8"), but the tire tread is not. When I get closer to replacement time, I'm going to look at 255/50s for my rims.

Where did you find those rims? Those are awesome. I'm getting ready to buy some, and those are sweet. My question, being the newbie that I am, is why do you put bigger tires on the back? Is there a good enough reason for it? I would think being able to rotate the tires as the maintenance guide says is very important. Would it be a big deal if I put the same size all around? I what determines the size I should choose? Is 18" the norm, 19, 20????? Like I said, I'm a newbie, and just looking for some good inputs before making a decision. Thanks! Does anyone have pictures of those top rims ona black Stang?

First of all nice wheel choice, there are plenty of vendors out there that sell that type of wheel in any size and even deep dish styles, which IMO are pretty darn nice.
So anywho, Looks beside, because everyone is different, I think you can expect a lil gain in traction at the rear wheels with a Larger Tire. Now I'm not an expert but physics states that if you have more Surface Area you will have more Friction thus creating more traction. So I guess in theory you might spin a lil less out of the hole??? Possibly Launch a Bit quicker?? But then again it is more Mass to spin as well. That's just my thoughts on it, I'm sure some of these guys have raw data, alot of good people with better information here.
-Good Luck

I'm glad you decided on the 18s. Your 17" wheel choices would make you getting a narrower wheel than stock, why would you want to do that? As far as the staggered vs not, that depends on what look you want and if you want to rotate them. Staggered looks good to me only when the front has some lip too, only having a DD in the back looks lame to me.
