These Mustangs are really no heavier than the Terminator Mustangs.
This is the specs for the 2003 Terminator:
Curb Weight : 3664 lbs(coupe)
Overall length : 183.5 in.
Wheelbase : 101.3 in.
Overall Width : 73.1 in.
Height : 52.6 in.

So why all the crying that the S197 is so heavy?

All the Dodge products are pigs so the Challenger will be very portly I am sure.

 

Ya I agree. A musclecar has always been a 3600 lb car. Even way back when. If you want a 3000 lb or lighter car you'd be at sports car dealers. Plus Ford built the car to handle some major Horsepower. Sports or little cars were built to handle 125 hp. Stuff a 300hp Mustang motor into a Miata and see what happens to the frame/unibody.

No you need Extra frame support because of the support lost from the roof. there are several Steel bars on the sides of the Verts.
There was some weight increasefrom the 2005 to the 2006 GT, about 10 Lbs
The 2007 GT weights over 100 pounds more because of the redesignStrut towers, and K membersfor the GT-500 5.4L Iron Block engine.
