Default RE: So WHY can't Ford........

I paid $30.000 for my 07 GT, and it has every option except heated seats. With a C&L CAI, and Brenspeed 93 octane tune running a 5 speed manual I run low 13's with no trouble but for wheel spin and that's my fault. My best time was 12.96 at 107 mphand it was just luck and lowered tire pressure that got me there.

I think these are damn good times for a street car since I am allmost 53 years old and have drivin just about every muscle car there was at least once. A new Shelby is not very cost effective to me in comparison to our cars, at least for bang for the buck. If it has 500 horses under the hood quite a few of them are running lame because it sure does not feel like 500 horses. My brother in law has an 07 GT 500 and drove it down to Texas from Missouri so he and my sister could show it off.

I can lie and say I wouldnt love to have it, but at $55.000 its a bit too steep for my budget. Im getting long winded, but believe me if your a Mustang person and cant easily afford a GT-500 dont sweat it any because you would be bummed out big time if you had a 07 GT first and then bought the Shelby GT-500 hoping the extra 200 horses was going to blow you into the back seat.

For a LOT less money I can make my GT into a stock Shelby killer. I really feel we have our selves a very fine ride in the GT andI never liked Fords untill this Mustang.
