Default How dealership fixed my qtr panle noise

My quarter panel was making "nicking" and "cracking" noise and of course, the famous "thunking" noise from the RF suspension. So I took it in as I needed service, and this is how they fixed the noise at the quarter panel on the picture I attached; they used some black 3M tape kind of thing they called "felt." The noise is gone and I also received a new scratch on my door which they'll repaint...pissed me off![X(] I'll post the part about suspension "thunking" noise in the thunking noise thread.

Is this noise you describe coming from the passenger rear? Mostly when going over bumps or something it sounds like you're ready to play some yahtzee?

+1, I am really curious exactly where the noise is originating, I have a problem with my door speaker vibration that causes an awful noise on bass notes.

The noise from the qtr panel was pretty much continuous, whenever the car was in motion. Sounded like body twisting kind of noise, sharp, crisp, and short...like the hot catalytic converter's noise on some cars after it was hot and then the engine was shut off.
I also had a passanger side door rattle, which was a different issue; it was an easy fix from the dealer...not sure what they did though, but it was common on our cars.

yknow I thought I had a speaker problem as well..but...it turns out that whats vibrating is coming from the panel where the lock and window buttons are..if you press down on that panel at a time when you hear a rattle.......the rattle goes away..i dont really know how to fix this though....any thoughts?
