Default Shaker 500 problems

Has anyone else has problems with the shaker 500..

Sometimes when I put cd's in it will reject them saying bad disk(even when there is nothing on it) Then othertimes I will turn the car off..go away... come back... doesnt work (happend 3 or 4 times now) The cd wont change..power wont turn off it just compleatly freezes...

Now, when I turn the volume up my speakers will start fuzzing out really bad It doenst even have to be turned up all the way for it to happen... and it is distoring sounds too....

Im kind of upset since ive only had the car since august, I thought this sound system was suposed to be great... I never had problems like this on my 2001 with a boose system.

There have been several people with shaker problems..take it to the dealer and they should replace it.

Others had problems with normal boughts cds also, so its not just burnt discs that are affected.

Ok, So I dropped off the car and The service advisor is telling me that he thinks the head unit needs to be replaced but to do that they need to remove mine first, order it and then in about a week I should have my sterio put in.

He says to do the exchange they have to keep my head unit...

Now, this doest make any sense to me. Why cant they simply order the sterio unit and give me a call when it comes in so im not put out for a week waiting. I shouldnt have to suffer because something is defective.

hmm....i know they will want to return the old one yes....but they should be able to order it, get it, install new, then send old back. Very odd.
