Default Backspacing and Caliper clearance??

Can u tell if a brake caliperwill fit based on the # backspacing of a wheel and the caliper fitment guide without actually putting in the Wheel to measure it???? for example

This wheel
18x9" Black
weight 26 lbs. /offset 24mm/
backspace 5.95"

Don't worry about the caliper when it comes to backspacing. Rather, the first thing you would hit is the shocks/struts/LCA's. The wheels in your post will fit without issues.

I need some help with the backspacing thing I have a 95 Conv that was originally a V6 car but I have upgraded to the 8 and I want to run Weld Prostars 15x8 in front & 15x10 out back but I don NOT want to come outside of the fender - what backspace should I order my wheels with ? Any help would be great. Thanks

Agree, "Don't worry about the caliper when it comes to backspacing." The outer shell of the rim needs to clear the caliper and it doesn't matter how much of it is forward or rear of the caliper; for example the 16" rim shell won't clear the GT front caliper because the cylindrical shell is simply too small. One thing that can cause an issue is the profile of the rim spokes. You'll notice on the GT even the OE 17 bullits come amazingly close to the caliper. In any event, test fit the rims before mounting tires.... once you mount the tires you own the rims!
