Default Kooks Longtube headers or 4:10 gears and your legal or new driveshaft

I know you don't gain with gears but you are quicker. Does that damn drive shaft bend? Is long tube headers really illegal? When will it be mandatory for state inspections again here in the South?

You actually do gain with gears because it makes the engine get into it's power band faster and actually gives you a 2-3 mph in the 1/4 depending on which gears you choose. As far as state inspections in the south they would also have to have a cap on how high a truck can be legally raised so I don't think there's anything to worry about and if they did make a inspection mandatory you would have time to change things out if you had to...

Headers are not illegal as long as you have cats and O2 sensors you will be fine.
Does that damn drive shaft bend? What do you mean by this??? The Stock DS is a two peice very heavy (46 pounds) steel beast. you will gain rear wheelHP by replacing with a lighter aluminum or Carbon Fiber one, this is due to parasitic drag / rotational loss.
Gears will allow the engine get into it's power band faster and will knock of a good 3/10th off the 1320.
