Default RE: low profile jack

It's not the jack that has me baffled. It's where to put the jack in order to lift the car. I tried to swap out the rear springs and realized I needed to remove the convertible bracing in order to allow the rear axle to fall low enough to allow the springs to come out. I had the jack lifting the car at the point where the LCA and the brace meet. I couldn't remove the brace without relocati9ng the jack. Where oh where is the good old fashined frame rail? It all looks so fragile underneath.

I have a craftsman I got at Sears, but its been so long I don't remember how much it was. My new jack is $3000 but you all will have to wait a few months to see that one =P

Check this web page out from NorthernTools I got mine from here. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...0_89+364+90556
That's where I got mine. It's in the mail as I type. I must have missed the bad reviews from them. Placed my order and it was in the mail within a day.

One of the things that sold me on this one is that it only weighs 28lbs. Great for the track...

how was your experience with northertool.com ? their reviews aren't that great. which jack did you get?
Thanks,
P
I have a Northern store down the road from me and did not have to order it. I can tell you the quality of the jack seems a lot better than the one from HarborfreightI also have one of their stores near me.This is the one I bought. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...3353_200313353

I'm using this one (got it for $129 on sale at CAP); soooo nice. Sears has aluminum one for $199 but no reason to spend the extra $70 IMO. I like the 2 piston design of this one.

CAP (Consumer AutoParts) has this maked down from $179 to $129 till the end of April.

I have the exact same one and I love it! I have the car lowered in the rear and a body kit and side exhaust and this is the best thing I own in the garage other than the car! LOL! I believe I bought it from the same site as well. That thing is heavy duty and worth it weight in gold. Its about 105 lbs. PM me or email me if any other questions. Jay

I know this has been talked about recently but I can't find the thread.
Basically I'm in the market (or will be soon after my suspension is done) for a low profile jack and wanted your opinions on them, but more importantly WHERE did you get them from. There are a lot of places on the net selling different flavors of them but most (of the sellers) have crappy reviews on sites like resellerratings.com. I don't want to get jerked around by them so your experience is important to me.
I'm leaning toward this one

thoughts?

Got mine at Pep Boys. She's aluminum and came with two aluminum jack stands. She slides real nice under the car since I installed the lowering springs on her. The set was on sale for $100.

Try your local Costco. Low profile, aluminum, fast double pump, chromed & polished, looks like it costs $400.00 but is only $99.00
