Erratic horn. Possible water leak correlation?
I'd like to start by thanking everyone for the information on this board. I have been reading for the last 2 months and have to say this is a nice board to frequent.
On to the problem....as anyone in the tri-state areaknows we have hadrather large amount of rain over the past few days. This is where my problem begins. My car sat in the driveway (slight uphill slope, hood at a higher elevation than tailend)over the weekend and into the morning. Droveto work this morning with no problems anddrove again at lunch . Went to start the car around 5 PM to make the journey home and the horn starts going off erratically. At first it was short little blurbs , but the longer the engine ran, the louder and longer they got. Pulled the horn relay to make the drive home without the horn going off every three seconds. After making it home I took a look in the passenger panel to see if the infamous water leak issue had occurred. There was slight moisture in the carpet near the passenger floor board but did not seem like enough to cause the issue. Dried everything out as best I could but the issue persists. After doing a search on this forum (as well as others) I could not find anyone who had documented the same issue.
Needless to say I will be calling the dealership tomorrow as the car is only 2 months old and has 1900 miles on it. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
