RE: Who makes the best hood struts and best price
I think you will find that everyone is probably going to suggest the one's they have.....That said, I have the CDC's. Don't know if they are the best, since they are the only one's I have had. I personally love em. Hood opens smoothly on it's own to the full open position, hood opens several inches wider than with the stock prop rod, and it generally cleans up the engine bay.

I got the CDC struts. They were $100 I think. The quality of the mounts was in my opinon sub-par. They were very sharp and dull looking. Luckily I work at a machine shop and just deburred and polished them. The struts look good. But i'm going to take the CDC sticker off them. I went this route because I didnt want to rivet anything to my car. This set-up just bolts on.

The problem with the rivets type is that with the Aluminum Hood, the rivits will pull out in time
the post leading into the plunger is too long and can bend in certain situations. oh and they will not work in fiber glass hoods. the CDC do not require drilling, they use stock hood holes and bolts, they are abit bulky but look stronger that the rivet type.
