Too bad they are going to discontinue the my color. I think it is a cool feature. Then again I just leave my gages on blue anyway so I guess it is more of a toy.
I have an '08 brochure and it still lists MyColor.

I was about to post the same thing. The `08 brochurestill lists the My Color option as part of the interior upgrade package, which is neccessary to get the premiumtrim package.

Never heard of them discontinuing it either.

Yes this problem only occurs if your car didnt come with the IUP and you add the mycolor on later.....as stated many times in this thread the dealer can get rid of it when they upload the a"as is" data.

howarmat, what do you mean by "as-is" data? Is that the equivalent of the dealer uploading your cars' info to the mycolor cluster?

I don't understand why/how you would upload info to the mycolor cluster. Wouldn't the car ECU contain all relevant info rather than the cluster?

Or am I just totally confused?

Its standard on the mustangs overseas i have been told. So its programmed on or off depending on where the cluster is being sent.

I believe Japanese cars are equipped with said chimes because they frown upon the whole "highway speeds" thing.

seriously, though, I saw/heard the high-speed chime in a Skyline video from the UK.

Might be the Japanese... might be the Euros. Either way.

I don't have the chime, but I have heard sirens above 75 mph, along with some flashing lights in my rearview mirror. Wish there was a way to stop it - it's annoying and also expensive.

will they charge for a as build re-flash? I had my cluster replaced in my 05 and I get it over 75 and reverse.

Its annoying. Anyone know wheret he beeper is located so I can rip it out?

I love how there were still people posting stuff like, "Well I got the IUP on my 07 and never heard the chimes! He must be hearing stuff!" even AFTER howarmat explained that this only happens on aftermarket mycolor dashes. Don't you guys read? Lol.
