I know they recommend Mercon for the GT manual... I BELIEVE they recommend Mercon V for the V6 manual. Definately recheck those facts! I do know FOR SURE that between the V6 manual and auto and the GT manual and auto, the only two fluids recommended are Mercon and Mercon V. Since most newer brands cover both of these specs then you're ok either way.
One of these brands, and I prefer it, is Mobil 1's 'Synthetic ATF'. It covers Mercon and Mercon V, as well as many more. So you're probably best off with that.
Some people believe Mobil 1 is all name and nothing special, in that case I've never had a problem with Valvoline's Mercon V Synthetic ATF (also covers Mercon). Great stuff at about 55% the price of Mobil 1.
Again, im listing the readily available ones... If you want you can order AMSOIL, which many people swear by. I do not, as I believe all of these fake websites and tests are just marketing ploy by AMSOIL. They make great products, but I dont think they're anything that warrants a special order or anything.
Also, consider the additive Tufoil. Its pricey and you have to order it... But its the ONLY additive I've ever read of that gets no negative reviews at all, and only positive ones. Some people swear by it. Its the only additive that the FTC does not name as questionable or a fraud.

D4 ATF is Mercon and Mercon V compatible.http://www.redlineoil.com/pdf/3.pdf
I found that many M5OD transmission owners used it with good results. I think Redline D4 is also a favorite among Bimmer owners. What is most favored by Mustangers with Tremec trannies ???
