Hwy: At or below 70mph, I can get 26-28mpg.
City: I usually get 18 or 19mpg.
Miles on tank of gas: 260-280

2007 GT, stock, manual.

My last car was a 94 Grand Prix with a torque converter lockup that didn't work, I only got about 18city/23hwy mpg.

My GT averages about 14.8-15.3 mpg in only stop and go traffic rarely going above 40. When I run her out on the highway for even 60 miles, it jumps to 20mpg even with all the stop and go I do during the week.

Having said that, I had a v6 manual for 2 week also as a loaner and it got only slightly better with the same stop and go traffic. I can't remember exactly but I want to say it was like 16mpg.

If you're going for fuel economy, the v6 isn't necessarily your best bet.

I just filled up and checked my mileage, I got 22 MPG for mostly city driving.

I'veread where someV6 guys say if you get a better exhaust system you can gain 1-2 MPG.

What I fell to understand is, why did Ford put duals on a Fusion V6 and not their Mustang V6.

I can tell you this much, I get no where near 30, and have no mods. Drive 90% highway, ~70mph.. I get like 22. I've seen V6 mpg reporting all over the charts.
That's true. My wife now has my 2005 4.0L/auto vert, and it's all stock except for the GT take-off muffler. My 2006 4.0L/5spd coupe with C&L/93tune/4.10's gets better gas mileage both around town and on the highway. On my trip to the Buckeye Brawl last weekend, we drove 1,059 miles, and averaged 23.2mpg, which includes running down the dragstrip @ WOT.

Some cars do better than others...

Wow you guys must really stomp on your GT's. I'm getting 18.5mpg in all city driving. I sit in traffic the whole way to and from work. I haven't had the chance to drive a v6 so I don't know what people are actually getting as far as mpg in them. one of the deciding factors for me to buy the GT was its gas milage over other cars I was looking at. Even the wrx gets worse milage then the GT and it requires premium.

I bet those 4.10's help your city mpg tremendously.

Well I didnt necessarily need a car with good gas mileage, just something better than a v8 Mustang, and a Ford, LOL. I said something to my Wife about getting a v6 with a 5spd and she laughed and said, "no, I dont think so, if we trade in the 01 than were either getting an 06 or 07 GT, 350Z, or a Cobra, LOL. I love my Wife, shes always thinking about me when it comes to cars, LOL. She also said maybe a new RSX-S, which wouldnt be bad.

i've had both...an 07 GT and an 05 V6....well the 07 GT just got turned into a 03 cobra but that's besides the point. The gas mileage to me was noticably different. If you have the GT with a stick, you just can't help yourself to play with it. I also have a V6 with minor mods and it is fairly quick! I love the v6. I'm actually keeping it and gonna make it faster than the cobra one day

No effect actually around town, but I'm putting my foot into the pedal a bunch more. If I drove more sensibly, then yes I would see an improvement around town.
