hey guys.. might have found a good deal on a Predator..

just so you know, this isnt my first programmer.. i had a edge evolution on my f150 when i sold it...

just wondering about the diablo sport predator.. any comments, pros, cons about this one over others like the SCT which i was looking heavely into..

does this limit me to only certain custom tunes .. like i hear alot about the bamma and other custom tunes.. does it have to be wiht a certain programmer etc.. does this limit me to anything that the SCT or other brand may not..

I use the predator... It seems neat... But Im only using the built-in 87 octane tune.

with the 87 tune.. is the difference worth the tune?..

bc i dont want to start puttin 93 in with the gas as crazy as it is.. im enjoying the 37 it costs to fuill up opposed to my 60 in my truck wiht a 93 tune!..

I notice a difference with the 87 tune over stock... I tried the 91 tune (no 93 gas in my area) but did not notice a difference so Im back with 87 (figured its what ford specs out so I'll use it if 91 offers nothing better).

While the 87 tune isn't worth the $320 I paid, I bought it for the addition of an intake later on. It has built in tunes for certain brands of aftermarket parts, like CAIs.

Of course, a real tuner person would get a custom tune done after some mods, but for a regular driver just looking for a little fun the Diablo has some nice built-in stuff that will make it worth the money (I paid $320 shipped at concoursdirect.com)

The Predator works great. If you were planning on learning to do some more involved custom tuning yourself I would recommend the SCT though. The base Diablosport tunes gave me a noticeable difference, but I really say a difference with a tune from B A M A chips. The custom tunes available are all pretty good. I haven't had any problems so far and for what I need the Predator offers more than enough options.

I have the Diablo and can't complain. If it was out at the time, I would have bought the SCT Livewire just for the extra features though. There are some shops that will do a tune for you even though you didn't buy the tuner from them. I did notice that after loading the 93 tune I was getting great highway mileage when I keep my foot out of it. I have watched the MPG on the dash go to 29MPG with the cruise set at 75, and that was on a level straight road, not down hill. It usually runs 22+ on the highway.
