If you want to do the actual math, the bore is 9.02 cm and the stroke is 9.00 cm. So the radius of the bore is 4.51 cm. 4.51 squared is 20.34 x pi x stroke(9.00) x 8 cylinders = 4,600.8222 cc's.

yeah sorry for the confusion, guys. i meant cubic inches instead of cubic centimeters

anyways, does anyone know why they stopped using ci for the measurement and started using liters?

The US auto industry has pretty much adopted the metric system for everything these days. But this method of identifying engine displacement isn't really new for the US, either. I can remember that back in the late 60's, Pontiac was using a 6.5 liter badgeon the side of the GTO which had the 389 c.i. engine. I remembered that because it was the first time that I had to go and figure out what 6.5 liters actually meant!

No problem. We knew what you meant. Well, most of us.
