Well I decided to be the guinea pig and did it. I just took some fine steel wool to my emblem and the paint came right off, with a little work of course. Let me know what you think. I don't know if I should keep the Ford black or remove the paint as well

the steel wool (be it fine) didnt scratch the badge at all?
Just make sure it's a good quality 00 steel wool and take your time. Chrome actually looked better when I was done, no scratches at all.
can u get this at ur typical grocery store or what? thansk

Go to an autoparts store, it'll be better quality. You can use it on your windows too.

Nice car, let us know how it goes. What kind of grill are you using? I really like it.

Chupac yours doesn't have thebubble gt plastic covering over it. By the way are you sure yours is metal? Mine looks like metal but the knife I was using cut right through the covering like plastic. I want that damn thing. Brenspeed wrote me today and told me to put a hairdryer on it and it would loosen it . I haven't receive it yet. I'm thinking of going to ford and seeing if there is a difference. Maybe tomorrow after work.

No plastic on mine at all. It is metal. Maybe somebody can post a pic of the plastic one so we can see the difference. I'll try to call my Ford parts rep and see if there is a difference in the 07's.

My Friendly Ford Service department ordered me a new one for free. (I live in Germany and they don't carry American Ford car parts in stock, German Ford models are different than the American ones).

Maybe I will offer mine for sale if they let me keep it (I really don't like the look, I think with my black stripes the black cap looks better).

i just noticed that mine has the massive plastic bubble over it. sucks!

i will get pics and post as soon as it stops pouring. to tell u the truth tho, i dont think u will be able to tell. i didnt realize it until i went and took a close look at it. maybe if i angle the pic from the side, we'll see. it's kinda like a giant thick contact lense that goes over it.
