Default Time for a change

As most of you know, shortly after I got the Stang I put on a xenon hood scoop.
I've been very happy with the look, I think scoops look good on the stang. (obviously others do too, as Ford now offers that option).

One thing that has bugged me is that the xenon is held on only with 3m tape.
It has held securely, but I do get a little expansion/contraction with temperature changes, so it does allow water to seep under.

I looked into getting it permanently attached, but I don't think that's cost effective with this scoop.

I also looked into picking up a permanently mounted scoop, or just a quality hood with the scoop molded in, ala Cervini's, but that looks to be way out of my budget.

So, I think I'm going to do a 180, and go a different direction.

I'm going to remove the scoop, and on Friday will have some vinyl stripes put on the hood. Just the hood.
I'm going to go with black, because I have the black abs delete panel on the back, as well as a black gas door, and I like how black looks with the Windveil.
Also, because of the delete panel, as well as funds, I'm not going to stripe the whole car.

Here is a link to the style of striping I chose.
I spoke to a local guy who is highly recommended, and he said he can cut that pattern and install for less than if I were to order from Graphic Express.
I just put the link so you could see what I chose.

Wish me luck.

There are several people on this forum that have those stripes. I had them on my car until the hail pummeled my car last year. But I did take that pattern and connected the two sides to make it solid in the middle with the accent stripe outside it painted on the hood. I liked the quality that Graphics Express has and they do stand behind their products. When the stripe is put on, my installer had a heck of a time trying to get it lay right and getting the bubbles out but he finally got it right. There were a few small bubles when I got the car back but they came out after being in the sun for a few days.

Please let us know how the Zenon came off. I have one and was thinking of a change too. I am curious to see if the tape hurts the paint. Thanks.

Mine are in Slate Metallic from BSM (on Tungsten). Great product, but the installer flubbed them up slightly (me )
