problem under the hood--->solved!!!
Seanostang, I tried the link and it came up in an error, when it comes to the spewing of the overflow canister, this is not normal, double check the actual radiator cap and make sure its tight, it could be a sticky thermostat, I have never seen a vehicle, Ford or otherwise spew coolant without some type of cooling system problem. This may seem over simplification of the problem, try a different dealer if possible.

the mechanic at the dealership said its steam from the over flow and that it happens but i dont like it at all

And while it is an 'overflow' reservior it's more of a fail-safe - not a normal operation type-thing.
The spewing part is the kicker here.
Take it back, if it's the same tech then ask to speak with the service manager.
Not to mention the possibility of an engine cooling issue (a very bad thing) the 'spewing' of coolant from the reservior cap will cause cosmetic damage over time (and possibly even damage to hoses, belt, etc.).
Basically, my advice is when you spend $30k for a car, don't be afraid to be an ******* if necessary if you don't feel you're being taken care of.
Too often, that's the only way to getafire lit under someone's butt.
i going to take it in toorrow for sure after class because it really worries me. and yes its from the overflow res. and do you think its covered by warranty? i sure hope so and i dont see why not. i guess we'll see tomorrow
I reread your thread, if the overflow tank on the top was leaking before you opened it, there is a pressure leak somewhere in the system that needs to be detected or you will always have an overheating condition. If you opened the cap with the engine hot, while under the system pressure, then it would be perfectly normal for coolant to spew out, this is why most radiator systems always have a safety notice not to open when hot and under pressure.
Definitely should be a warranty issue.
For what it's worth, I get the impression you're a young guy.
It's not uncommon at all for these guys to take advantage of your age and try to intimidate or BS you.
If at all possible, bring an old fart with you.
Even if he just stands there and says nothing, sometimes having a gray hair or two around can change up the equation.
If that's not possible, keep your cool, don't get pissed (at least not visibly) and don't take 'No' for an answer.
Good luck and keep us posted.
