Default Got the go ahead to spend way more than $350 on mods

After posting recently about having $350 to spend on mods, I now roughly have $1500 or so. This is what I'm gonna order from Brenspeed so far:

C&L intake and tune - $650
4.10 gears and install kit - $210
Pypes o/r h-pipe - $180

That totals up to about $1050, so I have $450 left, but I have to pay for install on the gears and h-pipe. Am I supposed to get the $50 install kit for the gears or the $80 one with the master shim kit and bearing and other stuff? Do I need to buy the $45 supply of Royal purple gear oil? Thanks

I would get your gear oil off of the net as it will be cheaper than buying from a ford parts dept...so ya the royal purple will work, may also want to check out redline gear oil....as for the gears i say you look into all the horror threads with motive gears(whining like biotches), which i believe is what brenspeed sells, correct me if im wrong. Not sure about the install kit....plan on paying 300+ for the gear install....as for other gears, type this into google M4209G410A Ford Gears

good luck

Thanks man. For the gears, does the shop need the install kit that Brenspeed sells or no? And if so what install kit, there is two of them? Thanks for the heads up on the Motive gears, I'll check your link.

Oh yeah I'm definately gonna check first. I always figured gears and install would run atleast $500, so that was always gonna be my last mod. But I know how much of a difference they make and I can afford them now along with the intake/tune and o/r h or x-pipe, so thats why I'm just getting them out of the way.

A good shop is charging me $225 with oil. Get the ford racing gears part# M-4209-G410A. There's another part# that ends with M and it's said they are made by motive for ford racing. People say they whine, but idk if that is true or not. I didn't want to change it myself. Summit racing sells the ford gears and ask the shop if you need to buy an install kit. Mine told me no and the ford gears come with a shim kit, crush sleeve and pinion nut.

I seen the ones on Summit, but the ones on American muscle already come with the shim kit. And when I types in the part # you gave me on American Muscle, it brought up the FRPP 4.10 gears, but was also showing it was for the 87-93 Mustangs, but then said it was for all the Mustangs from 79+.
