I read with interest in the V-8 section that a fellow Gt driver lost a race to a Dodge Charger stating for the most part he was having traction problems. When I was stock I too suffered from the car getting sideways and constant spinning. Since I have modded the car with Cold Air Induction/Brenspeed Tune and 4:10 gears I have actually gain traction. I have a Chevy friend at work who has drove my car before the mods and after and said it honkers down now like the Z-28s. I didn't think nothing of it until reading about the poor guy who got killed by a Dodge Charger R/T and I'm not talking of the SRT-8 either. But it's true I don't have no traction problems now maybe a tiny tire spin on a rare occasion but the pig stays straight. Anyone else like to intervene.

Everyone says you'll have worse traction with 4.10's. My boss thought it was the opposite, but he's a truck guy so what does he know. I have yet to try and spin the tires after the gear install, still going through the break in period.

Is your last option on the poll fron the eddie murphy skit? lol made me laugh if it is :P

and I get about zero traction with just the CAI and brenspeed tune, no 4.10s yet

Makes no sense. It's physics.... You lose a TON of traction putting in 4.10's. The taller the gear, the less traction you have. It is impossible to gain traction from this. Now if you went from a 4.10 to 3.55, you would gain traction. There is no way you can gain traction from putting in a taller gear, impossible.

This is why people with f/i or nitrous cannot (or shouldnt) get 4.10s, cant get traction. It makes 1st gear completely useless.
