I almost died today (really)
You just put her on the lift and roll out the oil station. Undo the oil pan plug and out she comes. When she's through, you put the plug back in and roll the station over to the filter. Change the filter and let the oil fall into the station. It's so much easier changing the oil while standing up.
Glad you didn't break it too badly, I hate going under my Mustang, I always think that jack is going to fall over. But I love working on trucks, no jack=happy mechanic.
I can just crawl under there.
I can just crawl under there.
Glad you survived. I can somewhat identify with you (or as Bill said, I can feel your pain). Many years ago, I crawled under my Corvair (yes, I had one) like a dumb ***, while it was on a sissor jack. As I was laying there trying to put a heater hose back on- it started to roll and fell off the jack. I was very lucky, all the car did was knock the wind out of me when it bounced off my chest. I wasn't injured, but I was pinned. I called my new wife out and of course she went into hysterics. I said, "I'm OK, just get this *uckin' car off of me". Anyway, I'm 61 now and am building a new garage with, ta da, A LIFT. Being 61 has damn few advantages, but being able to build a garage with a lift is one of them.
Close one man, glad you're allright and hopefully foot is not broken. I do use a set of heavy jackstands and put a square of plywood under the feet of each so they won't cut into the driveway. I was only thinking of the driveway not my safety but here's a good 'warning story'! Yikes!!
