Delete plate question
I am looking for an explanation on why delete plates work. I have searched the internet and this forum and can't find the answer. I posted a thread under the general tech forum, but got nothing. I know some of you have put them on your cars so I am hoping someone will clear it up for me.
From what I understand there are "tumble plates" between the intake and the heads. Delete plates simply don't have the tumble plates so more air can pass through, so more hp. BUT, I would think, though, that the tumble plates would help with atomization of fuel and removing them would result in a less atomization = less efficient burn, so less hp. Maybe they can move so much more airthat theyovercome the difference? Or maybe I am way off? Thanks in advance for any info...
