Default rim width help

Hello,

My local tire shop has rims in stock that I really like, the only thing is they are a 7.5 in width. I have the stock 235/55/17 tires. Will this make a big difference? IS this OK to do considering the stock rims are an 8 inch width.

Also, if I do get the rims, what if in the future I want to upgrade to a 255/50/17?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

DON'T DO IT!

Although the would fit, they will look like ***. The 8" stock wheels look skinny enough as it is on a body as big as our cars have.

Oh yeah, and a 255 tire will not fit a 7.5" wheel.

+1

If your going to spend the money on aftermarket wheels... get a WIDER rim not a narrower rim.... get a 9" at least...

+1 I put 9" deepdish wheels on my 06 and used the stock 235/55s. IMO it looks fantastic. Stretching those stock tires that extra inch really makes a difference. Of course I lowered it with the ebock prokits.
