Default RE: Do you manually shift your automatic?

I must f*** upmy tranny because I downshift when going fast and sometimes the car wants to slow down fast so my tires chirp. I don really car because i have warranty so i down shift and over rev the car, although when i over rev my engine doesnt over rev it doesnt throttle like im flooring it and i shift late and im still flooring it but the car wont kick in till the rpm drops a little.

I manually shifted mine since day one, I do think I screwed my transmission up! Although it sounded awesome! I just made the last payment about a month ago and it started bumping into 2nd and 3rd is not right, there is a little gurgle or grinding sound for a few seconds, too. It going into the shop today, but I do believe a new transmission is about $2500. That would be like two nice vacations or some awesome cosmetic surgery. Totally ticked!

What's an "automatic"?

Wow, was I the first to douche this thread?

Actually, if I had an auto I'd probably put it in 1st or 2nd in heavy stop and go traffic also, and shift from there as needed.

It also won't let you do a "neutral slam" LOL!

That being said... I spend a 1/2 day with Lidio over at Alternative Auto.. we spent it customizing the tranny portion of my tune... My car now actually downshifts when I start to slow down (unlike stock where you have to be at about a complete stop before the car would downshift!). So now when I slow down to make a tight turn or I'm coasting down to a stop light, my car is most likely in the right gear in case I want to take off in a "hurry" LOL!

He also got rid of that HUGE hesitation when you put the pedal to the floor and the computer things for a second before it realize you want the car to downshift! WOOHOO!

I tried asking them for something like this but it might be that I don’t know how to phrase it
