thanks for the replies.
I will be picking up the Mobil 1 and Motorcraft filter this week. I have already put over 1000 miles on it ( will be running 22k+ a year) and from reading some of the post on the forum it seems like a 1000 is good for the first change??
I was use to taking my hard to reach Hondas to the shop but I am looking forward to changing the 07 stangs oil like his older 66 sister. I will pick up some ramps with my 5 quarts and give it a try.
thanks for the replies.

RE: First oil/filter change????
well, I just completed my first oil change, it wasnt bad at all, all the write ups came in handy, thanks.
I was surprised at the cost of the syn oil, $6+ a quart, I have never used syn in my other vehicles and was unaware of the price difference from dino. I quess you have to pay more to keep these babies running.
With syn oil, do you still swap the oil/filter at 3500 miles or is it bit more like 5000?
Thanks again for the input, this forum sure is handy to have around.

RE: First oil/filter change????
with fully synthetic 5k is right....3k is too soon IMO, especially with the higher cost that can add up
it also depends on how many miles per 3 months you are putting on the car.....if you are 20K a year then still change every 3 months but if you only put 5k a year then probably change it every 6 months.
