The same way it feels when you miss a shift huh? One ride in my Auto and you would have respect for a good one. The 05 auto is not the same your used to.

Default RE: How much slower for the Auto GT?

The important thing here may be the fact that both transmissions have five gears. The comment about the Corvette running equally is comparing a 6 speed to a 4 speed, so even though I am manual-biased, I will not mind getting a 5 speed auto to give my wife's bum knee a break. As far as autos allegedly shifting quicker, I would like ya'll to witness me shift my LT4 Firehawk 6 speed. It has taken 40 years of practice i many vehicles but I can shift pretty well w/o taking my foot off full throttle. I just read about some BMW's having 7 speed autos and I know Mercedes does too, so when in Hell will GM get its act together and offer something better than a 4 speed in its Vette and SSR? Please don't start in on me. I want a Mustang convert but GM is American for the most part and we need them to keep our country moving in the right direction, just like we need Ford to remain competitive. It is now The Big Two and that saddens me. Other countries are smart enough to know the importance of buttering their own bread instead of sending their money overseas. This country bitches about gas prices but it is not the Arabs and oil at fault. The dollar is plummeting because the blue states send their money overseas for vehicles and then the U.S. dollar becomes worth less and then more are required to buy oil. A little over a year ago it cost $.88 to buy a euro and now it costs $1.30 or more. That means the dollar has dropped 35% and it is because of this drop in the dollar's value that it now takes more dollars to buy oil/gas. Okay, I am off the soapbox......... Congrats Ford on getting a 5 speed. I believe Ford and GM have a deal going to work on 6 speeds together.
