You're gonna have an awful lot of explaining to do..

Is it worth it?

~Fletch~

Exactly, someone will ask you "Wow, you've got a Shelby GT500? How is it?" And what will you say?

Answer: Nope ... not a GT500 .. some stupid illegal immigrant with no drivers license or insurance ran a red light and almost totaled my car ... I had the body shop order all Shelby GT500 parts instead of standard V6 parts at no cost to me. Now I have a much nicer car to make up for the hassle I've been through.

I don't understand how it's a "nicer car"? Surely It would be worth more if it was stock. Aftermarket parts won't add a nickel to the blue book price.

I do know how nice it will look to YOU! And I guess that's why you're doing the mods.
Just do me and all your faster Mustangs a solid and don't BE a poser. That's the kind of fool who pulls up to one of us at a light, guns the engine and all that cr@p. Makes everyone look bad.

Just try to keep in the Tribute car genre and you'll be okay!

I don't think poser is the right word. That implies, to me, a fart can ricer bumping down the road with the Subs turned up to Distorted+500% level and the occupants hanging mostly out of their respective windows searching for admiring glances.

Of course these things are our cars and we do to them what we like, that's part of the fun. There are a few pitfalls though.

- Misrepresentation - That speeding ticket is a fine example, you can get reamed for that I'm sure
- You're making you desirable ride even more desirable to the vandals/thieves
- You dilute the pedigree of your ride. eg, It's no longer a super cool V6, it's now a wimpy V6 which thinks it's a Cobra

Personally I like the emblem however

Seriously, from one poser to another, can you hook me up with one of these painted ones. I really want to **** people off in SOCAL as well.

Between the price of the emblem, shipping and my painting fee ... you sure you want one? It's really isn't that hard to do it yourself ... really ... Here is the final product out in the sun light ...

Now I just need a car to put it on ...

Funny thing is...If that police report was a ticket it would be void. If any information is incorrect, at least in NJ (im not sureabout the rest of the states) if anything is invalid on a ticket (adress, time, make/model) its void and not admissible in court haha
No... what would be funny is if the insurance claim got jacked because of the police report not matching what the car is insured as.

I don't think you are a poser. I just think you aregoing out of your way to continously pass your car off for something that it isn't to compensate for the fact that you bought something you didn't want because it was all you could get. Oh, wait... that's being a poser. Nevermind.

What I find comical is that I don't think any Mustang Owner would turn down a free Shelby GT500 body kit. And what's really funny to me is that it's not the $2500 worth of Shelby Parts that make you a Poser ... it's the $50 emblem ...

You have a valid point. Nobody really cares if you get the wheels, bumpers, etc, myself included, because it looks good. It;s just when you actually put the label on that you label yourself as a poser. let's say someone beleives that you do have a GT500, then wants to race you. You can race them and get destroyed, or go ahead and confess it isn't real.

I dunno. I pass no judgment on you. If you would leave off the emblem you would be ok. I would rather hang that on my wall.
