Being in Canada is different....you are required to have daytime running lights on all cars I believe. So what you are saying is probably true.
+1. You're right, Canada = daytime driving lights required.

I only drive with my fog lights. I never drive with headlights. What someone else said earlier is kinda stupid. In regards to the "someone might clip you if you run just fogs." I say this because the parking lights are on each corner of the car... Which means... people will see them and know how wide the car is.

Manitoba here. I run fogs independant of Headlights with the DRL by installing this wiring harness w/wireless switch which bypass's cars light switch entirely and you use a keyfob like sender to turn them on/off. Easy install. I changed fog/driving lights over to HID so needed wire end connectors to plug into 9006 fitting on harness as well. You can get all items from suvlights.com and other places as well.

I like to turn them on/off when meeting another S197 on highway.

I drive with just the fogs and turning lights on sometimes. I never drive at night ONLY with the fogs, though. I usually do it in the morning when the sun is still coming up and it's not dark enough to need headlights but there's not enough daylight to go without some kind of lights. Or I'll do this when the sun is setting. Sometimes I just turn on the turn signal lights. It depends on what the lighting is like. 'Course I don't have GT fogs, just the Pony Package ones, which I imagine aren't as bright as the GT fogs.

you can rewire them so they come on independently. If all else fails, buy a headlamp switch for $8 from america, and install it
its all controled by the SJB, so a switch wont work

DRL are retarded and i hate them with a passion

i came real close to hacking up the stock wiring and running a seperate switch, but will wait for the HID's before doing so as its easier and the stock wiring is left intact
