I just got back from the dealer having mine installed. If I have anymore problems i'm calling the factory and demanding a recall investigation be started. I have only tried one MP3 disc so far so most of mine are from MP3's converted to WAV using Musicmatch software. I've tried leaving a two second gap between songs and it still skiped with the old radio. The fact that it starts playing the song should say it's nothing wrong with the CD. Plus I too have had it eject and say bad disk also but usually when it first starts to spin the CD up on the first song. I have also had it stop a song short just before the end and start playing the next song. My service Writer also asked me if I was using lables and I am not. I write on mine with a Sharpie. My dealer was extremely nice about it though and did not hesitate to order me a new one. If you have problems with one dealer you can always take it to another one. Thats your right. I will reply back here after I have tried my new one out for a while. Hopefully it will be good news. Oh by the way mine is the Shaker 1000 and my buddies is the Shaker 500. Sounds like a vendor problem.

 

I'v been having that problem too. I thought it was just the way the song ended though. Damn this sucks I just got my car back from having warranty work done to it. Carpet, trunk liner, paint and a missing piece.

The good thing is it only takes about 30 min. So far the new one hasn't skipped yet. Yeah at first I thought it was a bad downloaded song but the ones I have on the latest CD all were baught from Musicmatch.com. They play just fine on the computer so it was definitely the Shaker 1000 screwing up. It's normal for car manufacturers to have problems with vendors of new electronics from time to time.

 

On my Shaker 500, I just called the Dealer told them what was happening, they had me bring it in to check some numbers on the back of the unit (painless 30min), and placed the order for the new one. They would call as soon as the new one comes in to exchange it.

My 1000 spit out my CD and said "bad CD" on a CD burned full of MP3's but I stuck it right back in and it took it!

 

Yea, get rid of the trash stereo that ALL car makers install and invest in quality aftermarket audio equipment. That is if stereos are a priority.

 

Well now my new one has skipped once and stopped a song short once. I think we have a munufacture design flaw here. Everybody who has one skipping should file complaints through Ford. If it is made to play MP3's then it should 1. not be finicky, 2. It sure as hell should play store baught and converted to audio CD's. Any reply's?

 

Just received my new replaced one today and one time it sounded like it was derailing while playing a song but nothing happen. Since then nothing. Everything is good so far. By the way I was rolling over a railroad track when that noise happen. My old one would sometime skip when I mash the gas too hard or when stopping to quick (Imagine that). Hell the old sometime wouldn't even let the entire song play before it went into the next one. Anyway still love that new car smell. Is all new cars now without ashtrays?

 

Daneil, you have to order one that slips inside one of your cup holders.

 

Actually I was just curious about the ashtray. Nothing could take away a new car smell faster.
