Yah I'd be pissed! Did you pay them by credit card? If socall the card company and dispute the charges, you'll get someones attention then. Hey man you just paid $1,800.00 for someone to do a poor job on your car. When you pay that kind of money you have a right to expect better quality craftsmanship then that. If there was a fitmentissue they should have adjusted the parts not your stang!
I would be going back and demanding that they fix the damage. The worker being possibly intoxicated can't hurt your cause either.

Note: You may want to see if there is a fitment gaurantee on the JBA website or paperwork? If so the fault would be in there parts.

Default RE: JBA Exhaust Install (PLEASE HELP Please)

I feel your pain -- I bought a set of JBA axlebacks off e-bay and put them on. Loved the sound and the power, but I just could not live with the banging and rattling. I re-mounted the mufflers twice, tookthe Stangto a muffler shop, and still couldn't fix it. The flares are not deep enough to seat the intermediate pipes, and the mufflers sit too far back in the hangers.

I finally got fed up and put the stock exhaust back on -- quiet, smooth and slow. So, I tried ebay again, found some Bassanis, put them on and tightened them down with my impact wrench. Good sound, good power, and NO RATTLE.

Anybody want a deal on a set of JBAs ?

I probably should explain more. I put in the JBA headers and had clearance issues also. After install I had a vibration, passenger side wheel well, some phone calls to the shop and to JBA provided the answer. New Motor mounts. They don't move the engine up or down but hold it in place. The stock mounts are "hydo" mounts and allow the engine to move 1/2" in either direction. The guys at JBA put this suggestion in the instructions provided with the headers.

FYI... this post is not 100% clear and does not give the whole story. Thiscar was in an accident if I am not mistaken number one; and the exhuast kit was not originally installed by JBA, and it has been worked on by a few shops. JBA drove the car nearly 100 miles attempting to narrow down the sound and never heard it, then it came out it only occurs in a very specific situation. How many companies would spend that much time onone car trying to find a sound?? About zero... so it speaks of JBA's desire to make customers happy. JBA is fixing it and is fixing the"pretty minor" scratches under the car, which may or may not have occurred at JBA given othershopsattemped to work on the car and itwas in an accident. Either way, JBA neverwalked away from this issue and stands by its quality and by its customers. No one is perfect 100% of the time... The underside of every car on the road has scratches, as a bummer of news that might be to some, especially any car with custom / aftermarket parts, that is a fact.... There is more to this story, but just be careful of what you read anywhere..... history is always written from one perspective at times...

I must give JBA thumbs up, they used my Quad Cab Hemi for testing and put on complete headers, Y-pipe, and cat back on mine. My truck is the one on their website. I was getting a sound from what I thought was the headers, they double checked and triple checked, had 3 different guys test drive it with me to find out what the sound was. They ruled out the exhaust...sure enough I went to the stealership and they found out the problem was with the automatic belt tightner (who the hell knows) But they went beyond the norm on my truck and I didnt spend a dime on their exhaust.
